2024 GENERAL ELECTION
The 2024 General Election will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024. The following positions are up for election in the 2024 General Election for a two-year term:
Mayor - Currently held by Suzanne Powell
Alderman at Large (2 positions) - Currently held by Gordon Hatthorn and Kylie Kroschel
PROPOSITION A
CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR CITY OF DANBURY TO CONSIDER A ONE-HALF PERCENT SALES AND USE TAX FOR REVENUE FOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF MUNICIPAL STREETS.
Street Maintenance Local Sales & Use Tax Reauthorization Election Educational Materials
Proposition A on the upcoming May 4th election ballot asks Danbury voters to reauthorize the 1/2 % street maintenance sales and use tax to continue providing revenue for the maintenance and repair of existing city streets.
The street maintenance sales and use tax is not new, it does not increase the sales and use tax rate in Danbury, nor does it affect the property tax rate. The street maintenance sales and use tax expires on December 31, 2024, unless reauthorized by Danbury voters.
